The ideal type of screening for people under the age of 40.
This screen has been carefully designed to address the main health risks for this age group and to focus on prevention and positive health.
You might want to consider a more extensive medical if you know that you have other risk factors in your family history or lifestyle. If you are not sure you can discuss further tests with the doctor when you know the results of the screen, to help you decide what is right for you.
The consultation and testing time is 30 minutes, 45 minutes if you are a woman and have a well-woman screen. We ensure the majority of your time is spent with the doctor, not with technicians. So you will have plenty of time to discuss all your health concerns.
- Medical Questionnaire — you will review this with the doctor to cover all aspects of medical and family history and lifestyle including diet and stress assessment
- Urine analysis
- Height, weight, body mass index and percentage body fat measurements
- Tissue hydration
- Blood pressure
- Full medical examination with the doctor with ample time for discussion of specific problems
- Blood analysis - 40 different tests including tests for anaemia, liver and kidney function, thyroid function, cholesterol and blood glucose. These are sent to one of the finest private laboratories and standards are the highest
For women a well-woman screen is incorporated and includes the following:
- Full gynaecological history
- Discussion of contraception, pre-conception counselling, hormone replacement therapy
- Breast examination and instructions on self-examination
- Pelvic examination
- Cervical smear (thin-prep)

Female doctors are always available.
After the medical you receive a full record of the results with an explanation of any abnormalities and advice on what to do next.
Easy to understand graphs are included together with an assessment of cardiac risk score. Follow up advice or discussion is available by telephone with the doctor you met.
If there is a problem onward referral is offered either directly or by liaison with your NHS GP.
