John Coldman is Chairman of Omega Insurance Holdings Ltd, a publicly listed company which specialises in property insurance and reinsurance. Prior to this, he was Chairman of Benfield Group Ltd from 1996 until its acquisition by Aon Corporation in 2008. Having joined Benfield in 1985, John became Managing Director the following year, a position which he held until his appointment as Chairman ten years later. Prior to its acquisition by Aon, Benfield had been the world´s leading independent reinsurance and risk intermediary.
John was also Deputy Chairman of Lloyd´s from 2001 to 2006 and Chairman of BRIT Insurance Holdings from 1996 to 2000.
He is a Governor of three schools in Kent and is also a trustee of a number of charitable organisations.
