Where employees are experiencing health issues which impact upon their work or may be caused by it we have a team of experienced doctors who will provide the company with a detailed occupational health assessment and report following a consultation. Whether the health problem results in frequent or prolonged sickness absence or is due to an underlying disability affecting their performance at work we will offer clear guidance on how to manage the situation to the mutual benefit of both employee and employer. We will also ensure that the employee has received the best and most appropriate medical care for their condition.
Active rehabilitation and properly planned return-to-work programmes are the gold standards in managing prolonged sickness absence. In order to succeed this has to draw on a multidisciplinary team and look at all aspects of the capabilities of the employee, the type of work they do and the environment in which they work. This includes looking at the psychological issues and workplace conflicts. Modifications to work and the workplace aim to enable the employee to return to work whilst taking into consideration the business needs of the company.
Examples would include work related upper limb disorder (WRULD or "RSI"), back pain, chronic fatigue syndrome and stress, which are among the commonest causes of sickness absence and long term disability. These are some of the most challenging and potentially rewarding problems to address. We pride ourselves on our achievements in this field.
We do not close a case until a conclusion satisfactory to all parties has been reached.
We are specialist medical advisers to several large insurers and also work with lawyers specialising in disability and employment law and are involved in in-house training programmes with the legal profession. This helps us to help you resolve problems.
