We are pensions advisors to a number of companies and several clients have a combination of long-term disability and ill-health early retirement options. The process and assessment of ill health early retirement is tailored to suit the scheme in place with any individual employer.
All cases will be assessed by an OHP with collation of appropriate reports to reach the required level of evidence for the scheme. Assessment can take place either by remote case management or face-to-face.
Supporting evidence for submission to the trustees is normally obtained from treating specialists and periodic reviews will be carried out subject to the terms of the scheme and category of pension.
Where an application is unsuccessful we will advise on appropriate additional evidence and independent medical reports which may be required to satisfy the trustees. This may ultimately support an appeal or support the original decision if the application was refused. We work with both the company and the employee to ensure that a satisfactory and robust level of objective evidence is provided and placed on record to support the decisions of the trustees.
