Karen qualified at the Middlesex Hospital in 1987 and spent the next 5 years working at a variety of London Hospitals including Guys, St. Thomas', the Middlesex and University College Hospital whilst achieving her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians.
She moved to Bournemouth and into General Practice in 1992. Karen settled quickly into family life, bringing up four children and becoming Chairman of Governors of a small independent school, but also finding time to broaden her post-graduate education and train in acupuncture (1997). Karen offers this as a treatment alternative for a wide range of musculoskeletal and other conditions such as PMT, migraine and chronic headaches.
Whilst in practice on the South Coast, Karen also set up and ran a private Stress Management Clinic and became a partner in Prime Medical, a medical screening company. She has a Certificate in Stress Management and is an active member of the International Stress Management Association (MISMA).
Karen's background of general practice, stress management and health screening make her a perfect and welcome addition to the team of doctors at Roodlane. She returned to live in London and joined Roodlane in September 2004.
Specialist interests include Stress Management, Occupational Health, Family Planning and Acupuncture.

Chief Executive
Gill graduated at Bristol University and trained in hospital medicine and oncology in London until 1986, attaining membership of the Royal College of Physicians. She subsequently completed post-graduate training in general practice in north London. She spent 2 years in Africa working in primary care and infectious diseases before returning to the UK and joining the practice in 1991.
Gill developed her interest in occupational health, particularly in the context of the City environment and in the specialised field of psychosocial medicine and it's contribution to health problems in this environment. She has also devoted time to expanding her knowledge and expertise in medico legal issues.
She is a highly experienced lecturer and trainer with a strong interest in health education and health promotion within the working population.
She maintains an interest in women's health and complementary medicine and acupuncture. She is a member of the Society of Occupational Medicine and has post-graduate qualifications in Occupational Health.

Nathan completed his medical degree and qualified from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in 2002. During this time he also completed an intercalated honours degree in Human Genetics.
Following his studies, he went on to spend two years working at various training hospitals in South Africa, gaining invaluable experience in emergency medicine & trauma, internal medicine, obstetrics &gynaecology and paediatrics. During this period he also obtained his ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Paediatric Advanced Life Support) qualifications.
Since his move to the UK in 2005, he has been involved with renowned private UK psychiatric hospitals including the Woodbourne Priory, Birmingham and more recently the Capio Nightingale Hospital, London. Nathan joined Roodlane in 2009 and has a special interest in general and preventative medicine as well as psychiatry (in particular mood and anxiety disorders and addictions).
Nathan is an accomplished musician who has collaborated on various studio recording projects and still enjoys performing live on a regular basis.

He spent a year in Soviet Central Asia with Médecins Sans Frontiers followed by Public Health experience in London.
Geoff completed General Practice training in 1998 and moved to King´s College, initially as an academic trainee before becoming a Lecturer at King´s. He joined the practice in 2003 and was appointed to the Board in 2010.
As a GP and academic Geoff has pursued an interest in psychological medicine, addictions, stress and conditions such as chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and irritable bowel syndrome. Geoff became an Associate of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine in 2009 and has particular expertise in the assessment and occupational management of complex mental health problems, addictions, chronic fatigue and brain injury.

Sheena joined Roodlane in the summer of 2000. She has an excellent pedigree in City medicine having previously spent six years looking after a broad range of both private patients and corporate clients within the City. She became a partner in 2003 and has brought considerable breadth to the practice spanning many fields.
Sheena trained at the Royal London and St. Mary's hospitals, where she gained a first class honours degree in Physiology. In addition she has further qualifications in family planning, aviation medicine and, of course, occupational health. Her experience covers interests including Accident & Emergency, paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology and orthopaedics.
Sheena is a keen outdoor sportswoman and, when not looking after patients, will be happy to take up a challenge in anything from clay pigeon shooting and skiing to sailing!

Charl graduated in 1999 from the University of the Free State in South Africa. He spent 2 years working in training hospitals across South Africa, gaining post-graduate experience in Surgery, Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
He moved to London in 2002 where he worked in Internal Medicine at registrar level at various London Hospitals, during which time he obtained a qualification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support as well as gaining top-level experience. Charl spent a year working as a Registrar in A+E at the Hammersmith Hospital a busy unit, which has given him invaluable experience. He then joined Roodlane in October 2007.
Charl has a special interest in Acute and General Medicine, as well as Preventative Medicine.

Peter trained at Guy's hospital in London and graduated in 1980. He then gained experience in a wide variety of hospital jobs including dermatology, respiratory medicine and gastroenterology before completing his general practice training in 1987.
Peter joined a practice in Maida Vale, West London where he cared for a wide variety of patients from a spectrum of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, ultimately becoming senior partner there in 1995. During this time he was a GP trainer and Director of the Central London Out-of-Hours service.
He has worked on a part-time basis in the City since 1987 and with Roodlane since 1991. After several years of working in both the public and private sectors Peter decided that his future lay in the City and became a full-time partner in 1998. He has a wide range of medical interests particularly in dermatology, nutrition, psychological medicine and addictions.

Ingrid qualified from the University of Cape Town in 1994, where she completed her internship at The Number Two Military Hospital before leaving South Africa to travel. She embarked on a 3-year rotation in New Zealand training in a wide range of subjects, from Orthopaedics and Obstetrics and Gynaecology to Neurosurgery and Psychiatry. She obtained qualifications in Emergency Management of Severe Trauma (NZ) (1997) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (NZ) (1998).
Ingrid broadened her horizons by gaining skills in Information Technology, working for a medical software house as a support consultant for GP computer networks and obtaining her MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer).
She returned to work as a GP in Cape Town for 5 years. She qualified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Resuscitation Council of SA) (2003), Dispensing (Foundation of Professional Development, Health Sciences Academy) (2004) and completed specialist GP training and became a Master of Family Medicine (MFamMed) (2004), through the University of Stellenbosch. She did research into the lifestyle habits and quality of life of her patients and worked as a Web-based Teaching Assistant for post-graduate MFamMed students in Evidence Based Medicine for the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Stellenbosch. Ingrid joined Roodlane in August 2004.

Colin qualified in 1973 with an MBChB (Birmingham) after studying at the Godfrey Huggins School of Medicine in Salisbury, Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). He began a career in hospital medicine in the UK and after becoming a Member of the Royal College of Physicians he studied gastroenterology in Perth, Western Australia. He returned to Zimbabwe in 1982 where he joined University as a Lecturer in the Department of Medicine.
He spent many years in Zimbabwe as a physician and gastroenterologist in private practice, and also spent time in Saudi Arabia. After finally leaving Zimbabwe in 1998, Colin worked as a locum Consultant Physician in Eastbourne for 18 months and then spent 2 years in a prestigious new private hospital in Riyadh where he helped establish the Department of Medicine and the Endoscopy Unit.
Colin has 25 years of experience in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and has worked in a great variety of geographical areas and different health systems. He has an interest in health screening, particularly for colon cancer, and has set up Executive Health programmes in Zimbabwe and Saudi Arabia.
Colin joined Roodlane in 2002 and we are delighted that he has decided to settle back in the UK and join our team, further broadening the services we are able to offer. Although based at Roodlane, he also consults at the Princess Grace Hospital and the City of London Medical Centre and he does endoscopy sessions at the Princess Grace and at London Bridge Hospital.

Gavin graduated from Cambridge and joined the original Lloyds practice in 1979 before becoming a founder partner of the present practice in 1991. He is involved in all aspects of City medicine with long-standing interests in stress related disorders and psychological medicine. He has particular expertise in the field of life and health insurance, specialising in disability assessment and high risk life underwriting. He is a Fellow of the Assurance Medical Society and chief medical officer to Scottish Re Insurance.
Gavin is also a specialist in gynaecology working from the practice at Roodlane Medical and London Bridge hospital. He is an approved examiner for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency under the Merchant Shipping Regulations for the UK and an approved examiner for Norwegian and Oil & Gas UK offshore workers.

Melinda was born and bred in Cape Town, South Africa. She studied medicine at the historical university of Stellenbosch, graduating in 1996.
Melinda did further training in accident & emergency, anaesthetics and general surgery in South Africa before jumping at the opportunity to work in the southeast of England in 1998. She spent 18 months working within the private sector at several hospitals, in particular gaining valuable experience in general psychiatry at the Charter Nightingale.
She returned to South Africa to start her family, following which Melinda started to work in health screening and developed an interest in preventative medicine and nutrition. This formed an excellent background for her return to the UK, joining Roodlane in June 2005.

Harry graduated with distinction from the University of Cape Town, South Africa in 1989. He spent 18 months in postgraduate training posts at Grooteschuur hospital, following which he spent a fascinating year in Canada working with the rural flying doctor service; a perfect training ground to hone the skills of any doctor in dealing with the unexpected.
In 1992 he came to London where he worked in a variety of specialities in teaching hospitals before going on to complete specialist training in general practice and obtain his MRCGP. Harry joined Roodlane in July 2001 and became a partner in 2004. He was appointed to the board of directors in 2007.
Harry's background means that he has a wide range of medical interests including sports and exercise medicine, nutrition, sexual health and psychosexual medicine and is an approved examiner for Oil & Gas UK offshore workers.

Gill graduated at Bristol University and trained in hospital medicine and oncology in London until 1986, attaining membership of the Royal College of Physicians. She subsequently completed post-graduate training in general practice in north London. She spent 2 years in Africa working in primary care and infectious diseases before returning to the UK and joining the practice in 1991.
Gill developed her interest in occupational health, particularly in the context of the City environment and in the specialised field of psychosocial medicine and it's contribution to health problems in this environment. She has also devoted time to expanding her knowledge and expertise in medico legal issues.
She is a highly experienced lecturer and trainer with a strong interest in health education and health promotion within the working population.
She maintains an interest in women's health and complementary medicine and acupuncture. She is a member of the Society of Occupational Medicine and has post-graduate qualifications in Occupational Health.

Nathan completed his medical degree and qualified from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in 2002. During this time he also completed an intercalated honours degree in Human Genetics.
Following his studies, he went on to spend two years working at various training hospitals in South Africa, gaining invaluable experience in emergency medicine & trauma, internal medicine, obstetrics &gynaecology and paediatrics. During this period he also obtained his ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Paediatric Advanced Life Support) qualifications.
Since his move to the UK in 2005, he has been involved with renowned private UK psychiatric hospitals including the Woodbourne Priory, Birmingham and more recently the Capio Nightingale Hospital, London. Nathan joined Roodlane in 2009 and has a special interest in general and preventative medicine as well as psychiatry (in particular mood and anxiety disorders and addictions).
Nathan is an accomplished musician who has collaborated on various studio recording projects and still enjoys performing live on a regular basis.

Peter trained at Guy's hospital in London and graduated in 1980. He then gained experience in a wide variety of hospital jobs including dermatology, respiratory medicine and gastroenterology before completing his general practice training in 1987.
Peter joined a practice in Maida Vale, West London where he cared for a wide variety of patients from a spectrum of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, ultimately becoming senior partner there in 1995. During this time he was a GP trainer and Director of the Central London Out-of-Hours service.
He has worked on a part-time basis in the City since 1987 and with Roodlane since 1991. After several years of working in both the public and private sectors Peter decided that his future lay in the City and became a full-time partner in 1998. He has a wide range of medical interests particularly in dermatology, nutrition, psychological medicine and addictions.

Suzanne completed her medical degree and qualified from the University of the Free State, South Africa, in 2002. During this time she was appointed DUX student of the University of the Free State in 2001 and received the anaesthesiology medal for best final year medical student.
Following her studies she spent two years working at various training hospitals across South Africa, gaining experience in internal medicine, trauma, obstetrics, gynaecology, general surgery, anaesthesiology, psychiatry and paediatrics. During this period she also obtained her ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) and PALS (Paediatrics Advanced Life Support) qualifications. She then joined a busy family practice where she worked as a General Practitioner, gaining valuable experience in family medicine.
Since her move to the UK, she has been involved with renowned UK psychiatric hospitals for two years. Suzanne continued her career working in the fields of general practice and pharmaceutical research. She worked as a research and screening physician at one of the UK´s leading clinical pharmaceutical research units. She joined Roodlane in 2008 and is now full time committed to general practice and preventative medicine, with special interests in psychiatry and women´s health.
Suzanne is a keen sportswoman who has completed various marathons and participated on a provincial level in netball and athletics. Her hobbies include travelling, scuba diving and music.

She then spent a further 3 years training to be a General Practitioner, before moving back to London in 1991, to work in Fulham for an NHS practice, which had been run by her father for 40 years!
She continued to work as a GP in Fulham until October 2007 when she joined the Canary Wharf team.
She has a special interest in mental health and women's health. She is a keen bridge player and also enjoys outdoor sports including sailing, water skiing, playing tennis, skiing and travelling.

He spent 18 months in postgraduate training posts at Grooteschuur hospital, following which he spent a fascinating year in Canada working with the rural flying doctor service; a perfect training ground to hone the skills of any doctor in dealing with the unexpected.
In 1992 he came to London where he worked in a variety of specialities in teaching hospitals before going on to complete specialist training in general practice and obtain his MRCGP. Harry joined Roodlane in July 2001 and became a partner in 2004. He was appointed to the board of directors in 2007.
Harry's background means that he has a wide range of medical interests including sports and exercise medicine, nutrition, sexual health and psychosexual medicine and is an approved examiner for Oil & Gas UK offshore workers.

Malcolm joined Roodlane in 2007 after many years as a managing partner in another private City based practice. He brings with him years of experience in the field of corporate medicine and general practice and is highly respected within the City.
He graduated from the University of Cape Town. He did postgraduate work in paediatrics and had the enviable position of working with researchers such as Professor Chris Barnard , famous for carrying out the first heart transplant.
He has developed interests in corporate health, sports medicine and medical insurance underwriting. His outside interests include running and tennis as well as following international rugby and cricket.

Karen qualified at the Middlesex Hospital in 1987 and spent the next 5 years working at a variety of London Hospitals including Guys, St. Thomas', the Middlesex and University College Hospital whilst achieving her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians.
She moved to Bournemouth and into General Practice in 1992. Karen settled quickly into family life, bringing up four children and becoming Chairman of Governors of a small independent school, but also finding time to broaden her post-graduate education and train in acupuncture (1997). Karen offers this as a treatment alternative for a wide range of musculoskeletal and other conditions such as PMT, migraine and chronic headaches.
Whilst in practice on the South Coast, Karen also set up and ran a private Stress Management Clinic and became a partner in Prime Medical, a medical screening company. She has a Certificate in Stress Management and is an active member of the International Stress Management Association (MISMA).
Karen's background of general practice, stress management and health screening make her a perfect and welcome addition to the team of doctors at Roodlane. She returned to live in London and joined Roodlane in September 2004.
Specialist interests include Stress Management, Occupational Health, Family Planning and Acupuncture.

Robyn Cohen graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2002 with First Class Honours. At UCT she was actively involved for 5 years in the management committee of SHAWCO - student run mobile clinics in various townships.
Having worked in South Africa for a couple of years she moved to London where she has gained experience working in various hospital specialties.
She spent a year at Guys Drug Research Unit working in Pharmaceutical Research where she gained invaluable experience. Wanting to focus on individual patient care she began working as a Private GP in Central London at the beginning of 2007.
She joined Roodlane in January 2008 and her interests include General Medicine and Women's Health and has a post-graduate qualification from the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists.
Robyn has a keen interest in all sports and has been a team doctor for various teams, traveling internationally with the South African Maccabi Team.

Melinda was born and bred in Cape Town, South Africa. She studied medicine at the historical university of Stellenbosch, graduating in 1996.
Melinda did further training in accident & emergency, anaesthetics and general surgery in South Africa before jumping at the opportunity to work in the southeast of England in 1998. She spent 18 months working within the private sector at several hospitals, in particular gaining valuable experience in general psychiatry at the Charter Nightingale.
She returned to South Africa to start her family, following which Melinda started to work in health screening and developed an interest in preventative medicine and nutrition. This formed an excellent background for her return to the UK, joining Roodlane in June 2005.

Ingrid qualified from the University of Cape Town in 1994, where she completed her internship at The Number Two Military Hospital before leaving South Africa to travel. She embarked on a 3-year rotation in New Zealand training in a wide range of subjects, from Orthopaedics and Obstetrics and Gynaecology to Neurosurgery and Psychiatry. She obtained qualifications in Emergency Management of Severe Trauma (NZ) (1997) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (NZ) (1998).
Ingrid broadened her horizons by gaining skills in Information Technology, working for a medical software house as a support consultant for GP computer networks and obtaining her MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer).
She returned to work as a GP in Cape Town for 5 years. She qualified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Resuscitation Council of SA) (2003), Dispensing (Foundation of Professional Development, Health Sciences Academy) (2004) and completed specialist GP training and became a Master of Family Medicine (MFamMed) (2004), through the University of Stellenbosch. She did research into the lifestyle habits and quality of life of her patients and worked as a Web-based Teaching Assistant for post-graduate MFamMed students in Evidence Based Medicine for the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Stellenbosch. Ingrid joined Roodlane in August 2004.
